Srinagar, Feb 05 (KNO): Residents of Sonwar and surrounding areas in Srinagar have raised serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of roads, especially outside the main Sonwar market. Locals said large potholes have developed on the road, which are now filled with water, making the path hazardous for commuters and pedestrians. The residents from Sonwar and adjoining areas, who spoke with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), urged the authorities to take immediate action, fearing that a major accident could occur if the condition is not addressed soon. “The Sonwar road is in a very bad condition, and the potholes, filled with water, pose a great risk. We are afraid that an unfortunate incident could happen at any time if the issue is not resolved,” said Moin Ahmad, a local resident. Another resident added that every day, they see vehicles struggle to navigate this road. It is becoming very dangerous, and the authorities must act before it’s too late, he said. Meanwhile, the locals have urged the authorities to prioritize repairs and fix the road on an urgent basis to prevent any untoward incidents—(KNO)
